When the Bid committee for the 1999 Pan American Games came calling, Palmer Jarvis made the decision to put Rod Palson on the case as creative director and production manager of the Bid presentation. This was a two-phased process that started with winning the Canadian bidding rights and then successfully securing the Games for Winnipeg at a presentation in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Subsequently, Palson assisted the committee in managing the process for creating the official Games logo.
